Create or Update your Resume
While having a resume already drafted is not a requirement for your UROP search, many UROP supervisors will ask you to provide a resume, information on relevant coursework//activities, and/or references when applying for UROPs. Potential employers will also ask for these items when you apply for internships and jobs, so having your resume prepared in advance is a good idea.
Staff in Career Advising & Professional Development (CAPD) can assist you in creating your resume or updating a version you have already crafted and can offer advice on interviewing, networking, and a host of other professional development-related topics. Key online CAPD resources that can help polish your resume and present yourself in the best possible light for your UROP search and beyond, include:
- Five Steps to Writing a Great Resume
- How to Write an Effective Cover Letter
- LinkedIn Profiles and Summaries
Staff in the Writing & Communication Center are also available to provide feedback on resumes and other written work.
