Project Description

The City Science group is looking for an outstanding Web Developer to be responsible for coding our website that will serve as a tool to crowdsource data collection for developing countries. In this research opportunity, we will be providing the design, layout, and interaction of the website and the student will be in charge of continuing the development of the architecture and the code to make the website live. The website will have three main displays: display information, aggregate data, and visualized the data collected. You will be doing: -Writing well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices -Creating website layout/user interfaces by using standard HTML/CSS practices -Connecting API and integrating data from various back-end services and databases Skills you will learn: -Learn how to Cooperate with other developers and web designers to develop and match visual design -Working with an interdisciplinary group of architects, designers, and software engineers In this project, we collaborate with Guadalajara, Nigeria, and different local and international organizations. You will have an excellent opportunity for both publishing academic papers and making a real impact! We accept only UROP for credits. Pre-requisites

- HTML/CSS (Required) -A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices -Adequate knowledge of database systems with MongoDB -Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines -BS in computer science or a related field
