We have a variety of projects around: (a) control a penny-size micro-control robot to move around in an obstacle course; (b) cloth manipulation; (c) social navigation that enables the robot to seamleslly move around humans while completing a target task; (d) audio-visual navigation, where the robot hears an adverse event and uses the auditory signal to navigate to the target point (e.g., the sound of breaking of plates may prompt the robot to travel where the event happened to clean the floor); (e) improving the sample efficiency of RL algorithms. You will work on robot-learning and reinforcement learning methods in this area. We are looking for someone who has background knowledge in deep and machine learning, has mathematical and programming maturity and is comfortable using deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
