Project Us seeks to help people to learn to become more empathetic, by leveraging the power of machine learning and wearable devices. “Us” is a wearable textile device that can sense the wearer’s biosignals and seamlessly convey them to their interlocutor during any type of interaction. This technologically-enhanced feedback loop aims to enable each partner to "feel" the other’s emotions and corroborate it with context data, in a way that could result in a gradual training of their “empathy muscle." This will be part of their Mental exhibition in 2021 (https://opencall.sciencegallery.com/mental). The UROP students will be part of a multidisciplinary team that will transform the project into an experience that will be used by thousands of participants.
