Help us tackle one of the hardest climate forecasting problems. Our interdisciplinary team recently developed a machine learning approach that won a challenge to predict sub-seasonal forecasts for the Western U.S. (https://news.mit.edu/2019/using-machine-learning-improve-subseasonal-climate-forecasting-western-us-0311). The next step is to extend our forecasts beyond the Western U.S., and this is where we can use your help! We are looking for a talented programmer comfortable with Python scripting, Jupyter notebooks, and Linux shell scripting to extend our machine learning models to the contiguous U.S. and to train, tune, and validate model performance on this broader, more diverse region.
Python scripting, Jupyter notebooks, and Linux shell scripting. When you respond to the posting, please provide an example of past code that you’ve written (for example, via a link to a Github repository).
