Metalogon--an app for providing feedback on oral presentations
Suzanne Lane, email@example.com
ArchiMedia is a research lab within Comparative Media Studies/Writing. We design digital tools for teaching and assessing writing, and we’re looking for MIT students to work on Metalogon, which is a platform for providing feedback on students’ oral communication. Currently, it works with recorded video of a speech or presentation, providing a rhetorical framework of potential commentary that can be selected and attached to specific moments in the video. We are working on providing real-time commenting features, so that the commentary can be attached as the speech is being recorded. We seek two students to work on developing real-time commenting features for Metalogon. We would like to take advantage of some of the new technologies that are being explored right now, such as OpenCast, or other open-source simulcast systems, which allow for live streaming of lectures, talks or events, and create an interface that would allow our framework to overlay and interact with such a system. Student qualifications: Experience with design, prototyping, UI/UX, and coding (HTML, CSS, Java, python)
