Impact of Covid-19 on U.S. Specialty Foods Sector

This UROP is for 1-2 students to work in collaboration with an MIT Anthropology professor to investigate the impact of the global Covid-19 pandemic on the specialty food sector, with particular focus on perishable imports into the U.S. as well as on artisan cheese. Work this summer will be done remotely and will include the design, distribution and data analysis of online qualitative surveys of (1) specialty food importers and warehousers, and (2) domestic producers of artisan cheese. Interest in food and agriculture, or in perishable logistics and supply chains, are a plus. Preference will be given to students with prior or current enrollment in Anthropology classes.
Experience working with large data sets in Excel.
