The MIT Media Lab’s Fluid Interfaces group designs seamless interfaces for human augmentation. Building upon research in wearable computing, machine learning, psychology, and neuroscience, the Fluid Interfaces group investigates how human-machine symbiosis can enhance our cognitive skills such as attention, motivation, memory, emotion regulation, behavior change, empathy and more. We are seeking motivated and highly independent UROP(s) with a strong background in machine learning and computer science, who are interested in developing a generative AI and deepfake-like algorithms for human augmentation. For example, we are exploring the use of deepfake technology to create videos of a person talking in different languages in a real-time translation application.
