Project Description
The City Science group is looking for an outstanding Web Developer to be responsible for coding our website that will serve as a tool to crowdsource data collection for developing countries. In this research opportunity we will be providing the design, layout, and interaction of the website and the student will be in charge of building on top of the created architecture and code. The website will have three main displays: display information, collect data (like google surveys) and visualized the data collected. You will be doing: -Writing well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices -Creating website layout/user interfaces by using standard HTML/CSS practices -Integrating data from various back-end services and databases Skills you will learn: -Learn how to Cooperate with web designers to match visual design -Working with an interdisciplinary group of architects and software engineers
Pre-requisites
- HTML/CSS, JS, (Required) -A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices -Adequate knowledge of database systems in MongoDB with NodeJS -Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines -BS in computer science or a related field
