Project Description
The Poetic Justice Group is developing a series of remotely accessible participatory sound and video artworks starting with A Counting (relaunched June) a-counting.us, Real Talk Radio (TBA 2021) and Freedom Radio (TBA 2021). In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Mandela’s release from prison we’re partnering with the House of Mandela Family Foundation to create a new voice portrait of freedom titled Freedom Radio! We’re crowdsourcing both prompts and responses about freedom and live remixing alongside samples from interviews with human rights advocates and activists. We are looking for a UROP to help support the frontend development of this project. This UROP would ideally be a student who is experienced in UI/UX and front-end web development and has a passion for creating user facing websites. Because we do so much web-based work in our group this UROP has the potential to turn into an MEng position in the future.
