Project Description
The Fraenkel Lab is seeking a motivated UROP to create visualizations for a Data Portal for dissemination and interactive exploration of a large scale, multi-omics ALS dataset. Visualizations will include many commonly used types of charts such as heatmaps, but also display items which incorporate multi-omics data within the same figure. An existing framework in R.shiny from a related project can be used as a starting point. Knowledge of R (& R shiny) is a plus, but not required. The individual will gain exposure to software development and deployment, data analysis and visualization methods, omics integration approaches, and cutting edge research in iPSC-enabled neurodegeneration research.
Pre-requisites
Exposure to molecular biology and bioinformatics Basic programming ability Familiarity with R and R.Shiny prefered but not required
