Project Description

Our team is a multidisciplinary group of engineers and physicians, working towards uncovering mechanistic descriptions and explanations of complex medical phenomena. In this project, we are using fluid dynamics simulations to explore blood flow through diseased aortic valves. We are looking for an undergraduate student, ideally with experience in using commercial/open source software for fluid dynamics. To apply, please contact jgw@mit.edu with a copy of your resume. Students will leverage engineering skills to absorb new insights into complex diseases of the aorta and an appreciation of how fluid dynamics simulations provide valuable insights within medicine and physiology.

Pre-requisites

Experience using commercial or open source software for fluid dynamics (e.g. COMSOL, Ansys Fluent) and an interest in biomedical applications of engineering.
