Project Description

The ocean is both vast and dynamic, characterized by great spatial and temporal variability. Understanding this variability underpins our ability to diagnose climate change and its impacts. Large datasets accumulated from remote and in situ measurements over many decades allow many of the mysteries to be revealed. One need only look. Multiple opportunities available. Potential projects include: analyzing local variations in phytoplankton composition related to underlying chemistry, diagnosing the impacts of tropical cyclones on the ocean, and designing machine learning algorithms to sample the ocean more efficiently. All projects are able to be performed remotely.


Proficiency in Matlab or Python (or equivalent)
