Project Description

The Bridge and The MIT Libraries have partnered to explore the use of AI as a tool to help manage, sort, and tag large data sets of archival materials (letters, notes, textbooks, images, videos, recordings). We need four UROPs to transform an existing proof of concept and scale it to be deployed on GCP using more open-source technologies. In summary, we need: someone with foundational knowledge to experiment with neural nets to create custom classifiers, someone to deploy neural nets to Google Cloud for production using Python and Google Cloud Functions, someone to setup data pipelines in Google Cloud for storing and processing large data sets, and someone to serve as user experience liaison to the Libraries to ensure what we build serves their purposes and can be used in practice. Please see the detailed job descriptions below.
