We are looking for a UROP student who is interested in developing and maintaining VR experiences and assisting us to collect the user feedback during Summer term, 2020. The project includes developing and maintaining VR experiences (roller coaster and walk-on-a-plank) and collecting physiological and behavioral responses (such as heart rate, skin temperature, conductivity). Particularly , we are interested in how the human response correlates to the impressiveness in a virtual environment. This is an MIT IRB approved study. Ideally the student will be interested in working throughout Summer term, with a possibility of extending the project into Fall term.
1. Strong at developing VR games in Unity using C#; 2. Understand the important aspects in terms of game design/user experience; 3. Knowledge of using hand-tracking devices such as leap motion sensor; 4. Preferably have previous experience with human subject study; 5. Preferably know basic machining, soldering, laser cutting.
